Decisions were made regarding the issuance of five new licenses and the revocation of three licenses related to audiovisual media activities.
On January 31, 2025, a meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. Several issues were discussed during the meeting.
First, the results of two competitions announced for granting a nationwide terrestrial radio broadcasting license were finalized. The Competition Commission, which reviewed the documents of the applicants admitted to the competition, their technical broadcasting capabilities, human resources, and financial-economic potential, presented its report and opinion. Subsequently, the members of the Audiovisual Council shared their views on the applicants. Among the five applicants admitted to the competitions, the two with the superior technical, personnel, and economic potential—"Pro Media Group" LLC (radio channel: "Planet FM") and "Broadcast Media" LLC (radio channel: "Dalğa FM")—were declared the winners, and final decisions were made regarding the competitions. According to the decisions, in the initial stage, the 88.7 MHz radio frequency from the Baku Telecommunication Tower Complex was allocated to "Pro Media Group" LLC, while the 92.5 MHz radio frequency was assigned to "Broadcast Media" LLC.
Next, the latest applications submitted to the Audiovisual Council for obtaining an audiovisual media activity license were discussed. According to the relevant decisions made, licenses were granted to:
- "İdeal TVNet" LLC (operator service: "İdealnet") as a simple platform operator,
- "Azeuronet" LLC (operator service: "Azeuronet") as a universal platform operator,
- "TV1 Media" LLC as a non-satellite platform broadcaster (television editorial: "TV1").
At the end of the meeting, based on the requests of the license holders, relevant decisions were made to revoke the universal platform operator licenses previously granted to "Beeonline" JSC, "Global Technology" LLC, and "Qafqaznet" LLC.
